The Ministry of Digital Transformation together with the Ministry of Education and Science presented the Global Innovation Vision, which outlines the key directions of the country’s development in the context of national and foreign policy.
The Global Innovation Vision contains three sections with an action plan:
- Ecosystem of innovations;
- Support of innovation ecosystem;
- Development of priority industries.
The gradual implementation of the Innovation Vision will help the state to make an economic leap and create favorable conditions for the development of business, education and science. The strategy is necessary because the world is changing rapidly, requiring an appropriate response from Ukraine. Population growth, security challenges in geopolitics, global climate changes, migration flows, development of the digital economy, as well as regionalization of international production create both challenges and new opportunities for Ukraine’s innovation potential.
The tasks of state policy in the field of innovation activity include:
- developing a measurement system to stimulate innovation activity;
- supporting innovation potential of Ukraine;
- ensuring normative and legal regulation in the field of innovation activity;
- creating smart infrastructure;
- promoting the development of the education system aimed at training highly qualified personnel to participate in innovation activities;
- ensuring effective interaction of science, the public sector and business.
The main mechanisms of the Vision are the strengthening of the Ukrainian innovation system, a multilateral state policy of supporting and stimulating innovative technologies to solve internal problems and overcome global challenges. The main role of the state is to create the most convenient conditions for national and local companies, educational and scientific institutions. Therefore, the presentation of the Global Innovation Vision is a significant step towards demonstrating the state’s potential.
