Polytechnicians participate in the Leaders of University Transformation for Ukraine’s Reinvention Programme from the British Council in Ukraine

British Council Ukraine in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and The President’s Fund for Education, Science and Sports is launching a new pilot programme – Leaders of University Transformation for Ukraine’s Reinvention (LUTUR).

The programme objectives are:

  • developing the leadership potential of Ukrainian universities, creating the leadership reserve;
  • strengthening the institutional capacity of Ukrainian universities that demonstrate the ability to develop and change;
  • establishing and strengthening relations between the universities of Great Britain and Ukraine.

The programme is implemented with the participation of leading British and Ukrainian experts. The UK programme partner is Cardiff University.

The pilot cycle of the programme will take place in Ukraine from October 2023 to February 2024 with the participation of teams (consisting of five people – representatives of management and academic staff) from six leading universities of Ukraine, namely:

  • Lviv Polytechnic National University
  • Zaporizhzhia National University;
  • Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv;
  • Mariupol State University;
  • Dnipro National University of Technology;
  • V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University;

In this programme Lviv Polytechnic is represented by:

  • Liliia Zhuk, Vice-Rector for Education and Strategic Development.
  • Olena Mukan, Department of Doctoral and Post-Graduate Studies.
  • Ivan Opirskyi, Head of the Cyber.Diia Center, Head of Department of Information Security, the Institute of Computer Technologies, Automation and Metrology.
  • Nazarii Podolchak, Director of Tech StartUp School, Head of the Department of Administrative and Financial Management, the Institute of Public Administration, Governance and Professional Development.
  • Yurii Roiko, Head of the Department of Transport Technologies, the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport.

In the period between the programme modules, university teams develop their institutional change project and ensure its discussion and agreement in the university community.
